Functions and Duties

  • Actively build up author/editor/reviewer/partner network among the scientific community in Greater China.
  • Keep abreast of the latest development in Biotechnology,Bioengineering and related areas worldwide, focus on emerging or hot topics as well as interdisciplinary research.
  • Plan, acquire and manage Editorial Projects with Chinese authors/editors/partners. Editorial Projects include journals,books, proceedings and electronic products in Biotechnology, Bioengineering and related areas.
  • Ensure the high quality of the Editorial Projects, including metadata, academic content, language, etc.
  • Work closely with global Engineering team and other Springer Nature in-house teams to develop international projects/initiatives and provide local support.

Job Requirements

  • Master degree, ideally PhD, in Biotechnology/ Bioengineering/ Biomedical Engineering, preferably acquired in a foreign country
  • Previous working experience in international STM publishing industry is preferable
  • Excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills, good team player
  • Fluent written and spoken English, excellent presentation skills
  • Proven mastery of Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Ready to travel frequently within China and occasionally overseas
  • Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities

Job Requirements

  • Scientific editorial/publishing experience, including contact with editors, authors and reviewers desirable.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining productive and friendly relations/partnerships with academic and industry-based scientists.
  • Preferably experience of presenting information to and conducting discussions with senior academics and representatives of organisations(e.g. learned societies, libraries).
  • Preferred a master degree or PhD in biomedicine or life sciences. Further experience of the research environment is desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.
  • Ready to travel within China.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and capability of handling multiple priorities.
  • High motivation with a sense of self-discipline and entrepreneurial interests.
